Gayotto Marketing has organized the Pão de Açúcar Relay Marathon for 7 years straight, from 1999 to 2005. The first edition in 1993 counted 1000 participants, while the number of registrations grew exponentially, making it the biggest race in Latin America, with more than 30 thousand in 2004, after the success of the new relay system with the pioneering use of carpets created by Gayotto Sports in 2000, a year that achieved more than 11,400 participants.

For the first time in Brazil, a concomitant sports fair was organized with the event, generating opportunities for advertisement of products to the runners and visitors, attracting the presence of big brands like Nike, Adidas, Mizuno and Reebok.
